GAMEDAY - Hornets at Bombers

by Andrew Heliotis

For the second time in as many days, the Hornets are in Barrhead, set to take on the Bombers at 7:30 pm.

This is the second game in franchise history for both teams as last night the Bombers skated to a 9-2 victory. Despite the score, the Hornets played well defensively, making Barrhead earn every goal. When the Bombers scored in the second to make it 6-1 the shots were 17-14 in favour of the eventual winners.

Bonnyville native and Western States Hockey League, second year vet, Anson Smith scored the first goal in Hornets History. Also finding the goal column on the score sheet was Hornets forward Spencer Tufnell. Tufnell was acquired the week prior to game #1 and was given team player of the game honours for his effort in the Bombers zone.

The Hornets are home next Saturday for the first time ever. Puck-drop is 7:30 pm, with pre-game player introductions beginning at 7:15pm. It will be a great chance to see the complete 2019-2020 Hornets lineup.

Fans can also witness the unveiling of the first ever home jersey.

If you can't make it to the game at the energy centre on October 12th, follow along on Black Dog Hockey, Broadcast begins at 7:25.
