After suffering two steep setbacks against the Hinton Timberwolves last weekend, the Cold Lake Hornets have now lost their previous nine outings.

Having said that, the Hornets have amassed enough wins to stay in the mix and compete for a final playoff spot. With 20-points in the Provincial Division standings, Cold Lake is tied with the Barrhead Bombers for fourth.

The Meadow Lake Mustangs sit in third place with 21-points therefore this weekend against the Bombers can have implications in the standings.

The Hornets will have nine points on the line hosting the Barrhead Bombers on Friday and Sunday at the Cold Lake Energy Centre, while also hosting No. 1 Edson Aeros on Saturday.

Of note, third seed, Meadow Lake Mustangs, face the Edson Aeros twice this weekend shaping the odds to be in favor of the Hornets or Bombers, to take third place. You won't want to miss the series so be sure to watch it all unfold on BDEHockey.com.
